Some things you should know…

For most of our walks, you choose the time you want to start and walk only with your fellow travellers. In the case of forecast extreme heat, our walks must start by 7.30am.

It is just you and your guide – walking at your own pace! We have walks that end with lunch or aperitivo … for those we need a predetermined start time.

We do not have to stick rigidly to the walk route. If you want to know about something else nearby – or, if you see a street you want to walk along – just ask the guide and it can be done!

Sometimes, the walk may become longer than advertised. Of course, there is no extra charge for that. It’s best to allow an extra half hour’s buffer for each walk, although you can leave at any time.

Historical Fact

When conservative monk Savonarola began to influence Florence he ordered a number of bonfires, in which the rich were to destroy the trappings of their wealth. They became known as the Bonfires of the Vanities. Many valuable books, art treasures and jewels were lost. We’ll show you where they burned Savonarola at the stake, in 1498.
